What is Buildbox?
Buildbox is an online application that allows you to make any game you want, and allow you to export that game as an app you can download on the App Store or the Google Play Store. The best part about Buildbox is that you do not need to have any programming knowledge to properly use the application. Buildbox has an incredibly easy interface to use, and this course will walk you through the steps you need to take to make your first game!
How to Install Buildbox?
First, go to the official Buildbox site listed above and click the big blue "DOWNLOAD FREE" button.
Then, select the blue "Get Started" button under the "Free" section. For all intents and purposes of this course, the free version will have everything we need.
Then, go ahead and make an account for yourself for Buildbox, and fill out all the fields the website asks you to fill. When you get to the "How did you find out about Buildbox?" option, if you just found out about it through this course and/or the STEMpump website or app, simply select "Other".
Finally, click "Get Buildbox Free".
Once you click "Get Buildbox Free", the application should start downloading and installing on its own. While Buildbox is downloading be sure to keep the license key that appears on the screen somewhere safe. This key is required for you to access Buildbox when you first open the application.
Follow the Setup Wizard instructions to finish installing Buildbox.
After Buildbox has completed its installation, open it, and enter your license key and "Hooray!" Buildbox is now up and running and ready to go!

In this course, you will make your first game using Buildbox that you can tell all your friends and family about! More specifically, we are going to make a simple endless runner with obstacles to avoid and points to collect that add up to your score.
