What's new in the STEMpump App 5

The STEMpump App 5 is our biggest update yet, rebuilt for iOS 27 with Liquid Glass. It needs iOS 27 or iPadOS 27 or later on iPhone or iPad. Download it on the App Store.

Discover and Library

• A redesigned Discover with an edge-to-edge hero, Continue Learning, and the Lesson, Course and Camp of the Day
• Search across courses, chapters and camps, plus individual lessons, quizzes and projects

Courses and lessons

• Redesigned course pages with progress rings that highlight the last lesson you viewed
• Swipe between lessons, with a sidebar outline on iPad
• Redesigned quizzes and projects, and missed questions to review until they stick
• Downloads for reading a course offline (videos aren't included). See Can I learn offline?

Camps

• A full-screen player that plays in landscape, with chapters on the scrubber, plus skip and speed controls
• A searchable transcript that follows the video. Tap a line to jump there.
• Camps remember where you stopped, and show their related courses

See Watching camps.

Intelligence

On devices with Apple Intelligence, STEMpump can help you study, all on your device: summaries and questions and answers in lessons, practice quizzes for any chapter, and Catch Up, Ask and Quiz in camps. See Using Intelligence in the app.

Progress and favorites

• Course and chapter progress on cards, rows and your favorite courses
• Favorite lessons from any lesson's menu, and remove single cards from Continue Learning or Favorites

Widgets, Siri and Spotlight

• Widgets: Continue Learning in every size, plus new Lesson of the Day and Featured Course widgets
• Controls for Control Center, the Lock Screen and the Action button
• Spotlight finds every course, lesson and camp, and Siri can open, search and favorite them
• STEMpump.org links to courses, lessons and camps open right in the app

See Using widgets, controls and Siri.

Other updates

• Designed for iPad and iPhone Duo, with wide layouts when unfolded and a tabletop camp view when half-folded
• Better VoiceOver, Dynamic Type and Reduce Motion support
• Settings can erase your saved data and remove downloads. See Your data in the app.

What's gone

• STEMpump Dice was retired. See What happened to STEMpump Dice?
• Bolt is built in now: a camp's page lists its related courses. See STEMpump Bolt is built in now.
• The app is in English only for now.

Good to know

The app keeps its own progress and favorites on your device, separately from STEMpump.org, and nothing syncs between them. New to the app? Start with What is the STEMpump App?
