What is Python?

Python is a general-purpose programming language. It’s emphasis on code-readability makes it one of the easiest languages to learn. It’s a great language to learn as a first-timer.

Most Recent Version

Python 3 was released in 2008. Compared to Python 2.7 and its predecessors, Python 3 and all subsequent versions have many new features that expand the capabilities of the language. That’s why we will be teaching Python 3.

As Python 3 is newer, most developers are building libraries for Python 3 and not earlier versions. Therefore, we will focus on Python 3 because we want you to be able to use your Python programming skills with modern frameworks and libraries to create cool programs and applications

For the sake of this course, the differences between the two are minimal.

In recent years, Python has seen a resurgence in use. Now, it is being used in several cool ways.

It is used for website development, game development, Machine Learning and AI, Data Science, and even CAD (Computer-Aided Design) Programs.

With its popularity, Python has become one of the most important languages for a beginner programmer to learn.
