v3.1

Our first significant minor update! This update brings new services, features, and content to STEMpump, as well as improved performance and speed. You'll also see an improved design language on most pages (we will be bringing this language to more pages within the next two months.)

Here's a bit of what's new with v3.1 for STEMpump.org:

STEMpump Camps

• Say hello to STEMpump Camps!
• We're going back to our roots, with our free live streams
  • We're kicking it off with three camps for January, with all new content
• There's an amazing new sign-up process that makes it easier than ever to sign up! You'll even receive emails leading up to camp!
• When camp starts, a custom video interface will show the camp in full screen, with important information and content on a sidebar.
  • We've brought the Resources panel from Courses to this, so expect some familiarity
• After camp, the interface will update to have sections and additional content
• And on mobile, this works the same way, so you'll still have an amazing experience, regardless of where you join from
• All Online courses have already been moved to this new standard, so you can now see them as Camps!

Library

• What's also new is the Library, one page for all STEMpump Content
• This can mean courses, camps, whatever. Subjects have been reorganized to be nestled inside of the Library
• New filtering options make it easier to find content that you're looking for
• Camps have also been put on the new Library page
• On the Discover tab, you'll find important content for the week
• We've also added our v1 of Dice to this tab, an idea we're actively exploring on how to expand (it's a content randomizer for now)
• And there's a custom mobile interface, making it easier than ever to find something new

Other Updates

• On the technical side, we've updated to Next.js 12 and TailwindCSS V3. This brings amazing performance upgrades everywhere. Netlify has also been updated to support our content rendering
• Lessons have been updated slightly, in part to a new rendering engine, allowing for content to appear faster
• An improved and lighter design language is now on most pages, with plans to bring it to all pages within the next two months
• An all-new Support Center and Blog!

KNOWN BUGS/PROBLEMS

• Disabled PDF Exports & Certificates (we are actively looking for a solution)
• Courses in Coming Soon state, currently being worked on
