What is GameMaker Studio?
GameMaker Studio is a game engine developed by YoYo Games. GameMaker allows for easy creation of games through a visual drag-and-drop visual programming language or a scripting language known as the Game Maker Language which is for more intermediate and advanced developers.
How to install GameMaker Studio 2
Go to the YoYo Games official site (link above), and click on the free trial as shown in the picture below.AltPlease note that the trial will last for only 30 days, and does have some limitations compared to a studio version.
After that, you will have to make an account and verify it, then you will be able to download and install GameMaker Studio.
What we're going to do in this course
This course is designed to teach the very basics of GMS2. We will be making a very bare-bones platformer with the following features:
- Movement
- Enemies
- Gravity
- Collision
- Jumping
