Everything we cover from here on out will be inside the body element of the HTML document. We're going to go over the different types of elements, and we recommend you try them out for yourself in your own HTML document and see what they look like in the browser!
Paragraph
Paragraph text is enclosed in p tags like this:
<p>
This is a paragraph. Lorem ipsum dolor.
</p>
To include a line break, use the br tag (there's no closing tag for it):
<p>
This is a paragraph. <br> Lorem ipsum dolor.
</p>
Headings
HTML has 6 levels of headings, designated by h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, and h6 tags. Each one has an opening and closing tag:
<h1>Heading Level 1</h1>
<h2>Heading Level 2</h2>
<h3>Heading Level 3</h3>
<h4>Heading Level 4</h4>
<h5>Heading Level 5</h5>
<h6>Heading Level 6</h6>
One important thing to note is that headings in html are used to organize content in a way that is easy to understand, not necessarily for decoration. HTML has some default styling for some elements (which may depend on the browser). For example, h1 is always larger than h2. However, CSS is the language that should be used to style the page the way you want it. Use headings to outline the logical structure of the document, not to make some text larger or smaller for stylistic purposes.
